SSD & Nvme Hardisk Not Detecting in Windows Installation : Step by Step Tutorial


 When installing Windows, encountering issues with SSD and NVMe chips not being detected can be frustrating. SSDs (Solid State Drives) and NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) chips are both popular storage options known for their faster data access and transfer speeds compared to traditional hard drives. However, occasionally, during the installation process, you may face difficulties where these storage devices are not recognized by the Windows operating system.

    This issue could arise due to various reasons, such as outdated firmware or drivers, incorrect BIOS settings, faulty connections, or compatibility issues. Solving this problem requires troubleshooting steps to identify the specific cause and resolve it accordingly. By understanding the potential reasons behind the detection failure and applying the appropriate solutions, you can overcome this hurdle and proceed with a successful Windows installation on your SSD or NVMe chip.

Following step by step  procedures will understand how to solve this;

1.Turn off Computer

2.Power on Computer &  Check whether the SSD is detected on bios 

3.Press Bios Setup Key F10/DEL/F2 (depending on your system)

4.log into BIOS settings of your Computer

5.Goto > Configuration >UEFI HII Configuration

6. > intel Rapid Storage technology

7. see the Picture,  BIOS detected SSD.  intel RST drivers need to install to this PC for detecting the SSD . I'll show you how to install it

8. Turn off the Laptop and go to any web browser from any computer .type "intel RST Driver"

select the highlighted link

9. click and Download "SetupRST.exe" file from the website.


10. Extract the "SetupRST.exe" using windows powershell 


11. "./SetupRST.exe -extractdrivers SetupRST_extracted" use the command for extract


12.Copy extracted folder into the same USB drive which is used to install Windows 



13.Again start the installation. from the installation drive select menu >click on Browse tab and navigate to extracted folder 



14.Open "SetupRST_extracted" folder



15.Navigate to folder named "VMD" and Select


 

16.select the First "Intel RST VMD Controller" driver and Click "Next"  and wait for few seconds.




17.after finish the installation . Hard disk will show here to install windows. now you can partition hard disk and install windows.
